Ikea In Da Hood

March 30th

Today was the first warm spring day. Emily enticed me to walk down to Red Hook. Along the way I snapped some photos.

Red Hook is an interesting part of Brooklyn. Cut off by the BQE and lacking a subway it had a reputation as a bad neighborhood filled with projects and warehouse. But in the past year or so they have converted an old coffee factory into a big gourmet Fairway and it looks like this IKEA is about ready to go. I'm interested to see what else happens around this part of town when even more SUV's invade searching after modular design furniture.

I really hope that Steve's doesn't move away because I really enjoyed my spring tart and sunshine.
